Writing is sometimes not a necessary skill in our language learning, but it is always a great learning activity. I had planned to do three languages over 9 months, Arabic, Persian and Turkish. I have now decided to focus on the first two. Arabic and Persian share essentially the same script. The more I read in that script, the better I can read it, and the faster I can learn both languages. So for now, Turkish, written in the Latin alphabet, is being put aside for later. Language learning is for ourselves, not for others. Sometimes we need to look at what we are doing and how, and make sure it is exactly where we want to be. Life is full of choices, often difficult.
